Nicknames is a lightweight Minecraft plugin and mod that lets players personalize their displayed identity on a Minecraft server. Players can set a nickname with /nick, while administrators can assign, reset, or review nicknames through dedicated commands. Names appear in chat, the TAB list, and above player heads, creating a consistent social experience.
The server remains the source of truth and synchronizes nickname data to connected clients for accurate nameplate rendering. The client component is optional, so players can still see nicknames in chat and TAB without extra client content. Persistent storage, English and Russian localization, and support for Bukkit, Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Fabric, Forge, and BungeeCord make it a flexible choice for BoxToPlay server projects.
