Developer’s note: Automatically stop/shutdown your server after no players have been online for a specific amount of time

AutoShutdown, automatic Minecraft server shutdown

AutoShutdown is a Java Edition plugin that stops a Minecraft server after it has remained empty for a configurable period. Designed for dedicated servers, it monitors player activity and begins the shutdown process only when nobody is online.

Its configurable initial delay and shutdown delay make server management more efficient, while a returning player can cancel the process before shutdown. Available for Bukkit, Fabric, Paper, Purpur, Quilt, and Spigot environments across many Minecraft versions, it helps reduce idle resource usage. At BoxToPlay, we see it as a practical choice for private communities and small servers that are not needed continuously.
