Sanity: Descent Into Madness is a psychological horror mod for Minecraft Java Edition and Forge that brings Don’t Starve’s sanity mechanic into survival gameplay. It adds a mental health meter alongside health and hunger, making darkness, rain, nearby monsters, hunger, combat, and other stressful situations gradually erode your stability.

As sanity falls, unsettling sounds, visual distortions, altered mob behavior, and hostile inner entities make exploration increasingly dangerous. Players can recover through safer conditions, companionship, food, sleep, and helpful items such as the flower crafted garland. With client and server support across several Minecraft versions, it creates a tense experience for any Minecraft server.
