Reduced Diamond Ore is a lightweight Minecraft datapack for Java Edition that tones down the extra diamond generation introduced in version 1.20.2. It lowers the affected feature frequency from two placements to one, reduces vein size from eight blocks to four, and restricts this additional generation to deeper layers, from Y minus 30 to Y minus 64. The regular diamond ore distribution remains unchanged.
By making diamonds less abundant, the pack restores a more deliberate survival progression and gives mining, cave exploration, and trading greater value. It is a practical choice for a balanced Minecraft server, and our BoxToPlay setup makes adding this gameplay adjustment simple.
