Rename a mob with a name tag set to “Friend”, and it will stop attacking players, making it useful for roleplay, protected builds, community areas, and friendly Minecraft server adventures.
Friended mobs lose items held in their hands, no longer burn in sunlight, and cannot be zombified. They also stop producing drops, while bosses remain unaffected.
