staffprofiles is a Velocity proxy plugin for Minecraft server networks that gives authorized staff members a separate game profile when they connect through a designated hostname. The proxy checks the requested address and a LuckPerms permission, then transforms the player’s UUID and username so the backend treats the connection like a distinct Minecraft account.

Configuration uses a compact JSON file with regular expression rules for the staff hostname, UUID transformation, and username transformation. This lets administrators hide staff identity during normal play while retaining a dedicated profile for moderation. BoxToPlay makes this practical for a discreet, well organized Minecraft server experience. Secure profile chat has limitations because the alternate identity lacks the original cryptographic keys.
