NetworkInterceptor is a utility plugin for a Minecraft server running behind the Velocity proxy. It observes network requests made by plugins and records their destinations, helping administrators identify authentication calls, update checks, metrics, telemetry, automatic downloads, or other external communication. Through a configurable whitelist, it can also block connections that are not considered necessary, adding visibility and control to a server network.
The plugin uses a Java Security Manager and supports Velocity, alongside Paper, Spigot, and BungeeCord. Version 3.4.3 was certified with Velocity 3.3.0 and Minecraft 1.20.6 and 1.21. NetworkInterceptor reached end of life in July 2024, so BoxToPlay recommends treating it as a legacy tool and checking runtime compatibility before relying on it.
