ColoredNames is a lightweight Java plugin for a Minecraft server that applies selectable colors and text styles to player names above their heads. It uses the scoreboard API, preserving player skins while making ranks or groups easier to recognize during gameplay.

Color permissions include standard Minecraft shades, with additional formats such as bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and obfuscated text. The tablist display can be enabled separately, and a refresh interval controls updates. Because it also relies on scoreboards, ColoredNames may conflict with plugins managing custom scoreboards.
