Developer’s note: Bukkit Library for hide player tags

HideTagAPI, Bukkit Library for Hidden Player Tags

HideTagAPI is a lightweight Bukkit library designed for developers who want to hide or display player name tags above their heads on a Minecraft server. It relies on the Bukkit Scoreboard system, making integration straightforward for plugins that need discreet identities, roleplay mechanics, or cleaner interfaces.

The API provides hideTag and showTag methods, access to its main scoreboard, and a PlayerActionTagEvent for reacting to visibility changes. An AutoJoinHide option can conceal nicknames when players join. Released in 2015, it targets Minecraft 1.8 and later, uses the MIT license, and may conflict with other scoreboard plugins. At BoxToPlay, we recommend it for carefully planned legacy server projects.
