Smart Items is a Bukkit plugin that gives dropped items and dispensers new interactions with their surroundings. Items can react to the block beneath them, turning familiar resources into useful automated actions on a Minecraft server.

Saplings plant themselves on dirt or grass, crops and Nether wart can spread across suitable farmland or soul sand, and bone meal helps plants grow. Powered workbenches enable automatic crafting, while cauldrons, hoppers, item frames, and dispensers gain filtering, collection, cooking, breeding, milking, and tool usage features. With BoxToPlay, we present this classic automation plugin as a creative way to build more dynamic survival systems.
