Minecraft 1.21.6: Chasing the Skies
The brand-new Minecraft update 1.21.6, titled Chase the Skies, is now live on BoxToPlay.
A version focused on vertical exploration, where the skies become your playground.
The Happy Ghast: your new flying companion
The Happy Ghast is the highlight of this update. It can carry up to four players, animals, boats, and even minecarts with chests.
Controlled via a colorful harness, it heals faster in the rain or at high altitude.
Its baby version, the Ghastling, is born from a Dried Ghast Block hydrated for twenty minutes. Feed it snowballs and watch it grow into your loyal sky partner.
Fly with style: customizable harnesses
Craftable in 16 colors, the harness uses leather, wool, and glass.
If no one is mounted, you can remove it with shears — a stylish and practical touch.
New multiplayer HUD: Locator Bar
The Locator Bar replaces the XP bar and now shows the position and direction of other players.
It can be disabled via the locatorBar gamerule and customized with /waypoint.
A fresh soundtrack by Amos Roddy
Five new ambient tracks set the mood for skybound adventures, with titles like Fireflies and O’s Piano.
A new music disc, Tears, is also available — obtained by reflecting a fireball at a Ghast. Skill pays off!
Interactions reworked: saddles now craftable
At last! After over 15 years, saddles can finally be crafted using three leather and one iron ingot.
Leads no longer need slimeballs, can connect two mobs, and can now be removed with dispensers or shears.
Sky makeover: clouds, fog and a new panorama

Yes, that cloud has a Creeper face.
Clouds have been entirely redesigned and now stretch across the full horizon.
Fog adjusts dynamically to the weather and becomes denser in the rain.
The main menu panorama now shows flying Ghasts, and vibrant graphics (already on Bedrock) are coming soon to Java.
Technical changes & fixes
This update also includes technical improvements: new advancement triggers, extended commands (/dialog, /datapack create), new attributes, and an overhauled UI sound system.
Many bugs have been fixed, and wolves, pigs, and sheep now finally have symmetrical legs
