WitherOfDead is a lightweight Bukkit plugin for a Java Minecraft server that makes player deaths much more dramatic. Whenever someone dies, it plays the Wither spawn sound at the death location, creating an ominous audio cue inspired by the Unstable SMP experience.

The effect is localized rather than broadcast globally, so only nearby players in the same area hear it. This keeps the atmosphere tense without overwhelming the entire server.
