Melody is a client side library mod for Minecraft Java Edition that lets other mods play background music through OpenAL, independently from Minecraft’s standard sound engine. It is designed for menus, interfaces, adventures, and immersive moments on a Minecraft server, although it does not add music by itself.
The library can load audio asynchronously from different sources, including web sources, with built in support for OGG and WAV files. Its playback is limited to non directional, two dimensional audio, making it ideal for music rather than positional sound effects. At BoxToPlay, we recommend it as a useful dependency for modpacks that enhance atmosphere through custom soundtracks.
