Transfer Pet Owner is a practical Minecraft datapack for Java Edition that lets players give tamed pets to other online players. It is designed for multiplayer and singleplayer worlds, bringing a useful ownership feature to a Minecraft server without changing the wider gameplay experience.

To transfer a pet, write the new owner’s name in a Book & Quill, then look at the chosen animal while sneaking on supported versions. Earlier versions use the transfer_pet_owner trigger instead. With BoxToPlay, our Minecraft server setup makes this social feature easy to add and enjoy.
