BarAPI is a legacy Bukkit and Spigot plugin that provides a developer API for displaying boss bars on a Minecraft server. It is not a standalone gameplay feature: other plugins use it to send custom messages to individual players, adjust the bar’s progress, update its health value, or remove it when an event ends. The message is limited to 64 characters, and the API was designed for older Minecraft versions, with version 3.5 released for Minecraft 1.10 in November 2016. Since Minecraft 1.9 introduced a native boss bar API, BarAPI is mainly useful for compatibility with older plugins. At BoxToPlay, we recommend viewing it as a legacy server tool.
