Alternate Current is a Minecraft Java mod that replaces vanilla redstone dust calculations with an efficient, non locational system. It evaluates connected wire networks as a whole, reduces repeated power checks, and cuts unnecessary block and shape updates. The result is lower redstone related server load, smoother contraptions, and more stable tick performance, especially in technical bases, farms, and automation heavy worlds.

Its behavior remains close to vanilla while making update order predictable rather than dependent on a wire’s position. Alternate Current supports server side use with Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Ornithe, and Quilt across many Java Edition versions.
