ColoredPlayerNames is a Bukkit plugin that gives each player a distinctive name color across the Minecraft server experience. Colors can be selected randomly when players join, with configurable choices and weights that control how often each shade appears. The plugin can display colors in chat, player lists, nameplates above heads, and death messages, while avoiding duplicate colors whenever possible.
Players may change their color with /changecolor, administrators can assign permanent colors, and permissions provide detailed control. Because nameplates use the scoreboard system, compatibility may require attention when other plugins also manage scoreboards. At BoxToPlay, it adds a simple visual identity feature to community servers.
