Top Minecraft modpacks for May 2026: our week 3 picks
As of May 19, 2026, the modpacks drawing the most attention still cover very different player profiles, but they all make sense if you want to launch a new server with friends: XXL progression, zombie survival, a Cobblemon adventure, and a proper Vanilla+ world.
For this weekly edition, we picked 4 modpacks covering four very different server styles. And if you want to see how BoxToPlay already streamlines this kind of setup, you can also revisit our guide Discover Minecraft Modpacks Available for Automatic Installation!.
- All the Mods 10 - ATM10: the big progression pack built for the long run
- DeceasedCraft - Urban Zombie Apocalypse: a modern survival setup with pressure and teamwork
- COBBLEVERSE - Pokemon Adventure [Cobblemon]: a full adventure built around collection and exploration
- Better MC [FORGE] BMC4: the easiest true Vanilla+ pick to share with a community
All the Mods 10 - ATM10: this week’s biggest progression pack
Theme: huge all-purpose pack mixing magic, tech, exploration and automation.
ATM10 remains one of the clearest reference points right now if you want a server that can stay active for a long time. It is a massive pack with around 500 mods, plenty of quests, a real endgame, and a deliberate mix of modded staples with newer or less expected picks.
In day-to-day play, ATM10 lets several progression lines run in parallel:
- advanced tech to automate farms, factories and resource chains
- magic and several parallel progression paths
- lots of dimensions, structures and goals to explore
- a solid set of quests that works as a guide while you discover the different mods
- a progression curve broad enough to stay interesting even once the server is well advanced
With its Minecraft 1.21.1 base and NeoForge support, ATM10 works especially well on a community server where each player can specialize without draining the content too quickly. This is exactly the kind of pack that shines when you want to run a community server in the long run with different player profiles, from builders to full automation grinders.
Available on BoxToPlay: ATM10.
DeceasedCraft - Urban Zombie Apocalypse: the hardcore urban pick
Theme: urban zombie apocalypse, exploration, loot and tech progression.
DeceasedCraft is built around a very clear gameplay loop: go out, scavenge, survive, upgrade your gear, then push farther on the next run. The pack leans on large procedural cities, several handcrafted districts, real tech progression, and a world designed to keep the pressure high for a long time in multiplayer.
A typical run tends to revolve around four pillars:
- explore infected cities packed with buildings, loot and points of interest
- fight special zombies, full hordes, and a difficulty curve that ramps up as the world ages
- progress through a real tech tree, especially around Create and Immersive Engineering
- push all the way to the radioactive Wasteland zones, which act as a major progression gate
The pack runs on 1.20.1 with Forge. It also highlights 15+ unique zombies, 100+ weapons, 20+ armor sets, 800+ loot tables, vehicles, and a real character progression system. In multiplayer, it is an excellent choice if you want a world that feels more intense than a traditional survival setup, with group outings that genuinely feel like dangerous expeditions through a city that does not forgive mistakes.
Available on BoxToPlay: DeceasedCraft.
COBBLEVERSE - Pokemon Adventure [Cobblemon]: the adventure and collection pick
Theme: full RPG-style adventure built around creatures you can capture, train and battle.
COBBLEVERSE is aimed at players who want more than a bare Cobblemon pack dropped onto an empty server. It really pushes the idea of a dense, guided adventure with content designed to offer more than a simple capture-and-battle loop.
The pack’s core content rests on four pillars:
- Cobblemon 1.7.3 integration with the 1,025 Pokemon announced by the team
- regions inspired by Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh, complete with gyms, badges, champions and Pokemon Centers
- more than 200 rideable Pokemon, 1 to 7 star raids, and advanced systems such as Mega Evolution and Terastallization
- a strong focus on presentation, music and overall atmosphere to give the world a clear identity
The modpack targets Minecraft 1.21.1 through Fabric. It also adds its own structures, a fairly guided progression system, tools to track Pokemon, and even several original dimensions. On a server, it makes the most sense if you like running community events, capture goals, or long playtimes focused on exploration and collection.
Available on BoxToPlay: COBBLEVERSE.
Better MC [FORGE] BMC4: May 2026’s safest Vanilla+ pick
Theme: Vanilla+, richer than base Minecraft while staying faithful to its natural rhythm.
Better MC [FORGE] BMC4 remains one of the best choices if you want to offer a world that feels better looking, denser and more alive without forcing every player into heavy complexity. It is a very complete Vanilla+ pack with 100+ quests, a major world overhaul, and a lot of exploration content.
BMC4 rests on five complementary pillars:
- new biomes and structures that blend naturally into exploration
- a huge amount of bosses, dungeons, fortresses and structures to keep map runs fresh
- more creatures, loot and activities without breaking familiar Vanilla landmarks
- a richer progression that still stays accessible for mixed communities
- comfort additions like Waystones, a minimap, optimization work, and even a reworked The Aether for adventure content
With its Forge 1.20.1 base, BMC4 is a very good fit for servers that want a real visual and gameplay refresh without turning into an ultra-technical or overly demanding pack. It is a strong candidate if you are looking for something easy to introduce to a mixed group, with enough new content to reignite exploration without losing the Minecraft feel.
Available on BoxToPlay: Better MC BMC4.
For this third week of May 2026, the biggest takeaway is four very different ways to revisit Minecraft: ATM10 for long progression and massive content, DeceasedCraft for high-pressure urban survival, COBBLEVERSE for a Cobblemon adventure that is far more structured than a simple collection pack, and Better MC for a modern, readable Vanilla+ world that is easy to share. If you want to try this kind of pack on a ready-to-go server, you can launch your free Minecraft server and start preparing your next server right now. See you next week for a new selection.
