Audio Navigation, accessible sound guidance for Minecraft

Audio Navigation is an accessibility project for Minecraft Java Edition that helps blind and visually impaired players understand and explore their surroundings through spoken information and positional sounds. Inspired by Microsoft Soundscape, it can work as a Fabric or NeoForge mod, with a server component for Paper and Purpur based Minecraft servers.

The project announces nearby points of interest, such as trees, ores and terrain features, using names, distance, direction and optional vertical guidance. Players can create landmarks, follow them with continuous audio beacons, stop speech instantly and customize voices, languages, ranges and announcements. It complements Minecraft Access and gives our BoxToPlay Minecraft server a more independent, immersive exploration experience.
