xAuth is an authentication plugin for Bukkit powered Minecraft servers, designed mainly for offline mode environments. It protects player accounts by requiring newcomers to create a password with /register, then asking returning players to identify themselves with /login before accessing normal gameplay.
While unauthenticated, players can be prevented from moving, chatting, using commands, interacting, placing or breaking blocks, and taking damage. xAuth also supports configurable password rules, secure hashing, login time limits, temporary IP lockouts, persistent sessions, permissions, and H2 or MySQL storage. Our BoxToPlay team presents it as a classic, security focused solution with compatibility centered on older Bukkit releases.
