Player Corpses is a highly configurable Minecraft datapack that turns death on a Minecraft server into a recoverable encounter. Instead of scattering items across the ground, it creates a corpse displaying the fallen player’s skin and name, while a chat message records the death coordinates. Players can return and retrieve their inventory by sneaking nearby or using right click, depending on the selected settings, with items restored to their original slots.
Configuration screens let you adjust despawn timing, ownership, gore, movement, water and lava behavior, head rewards, zombie transformations, void recovery, and more. A corpse finder also shows loaded bodies and their locations. At BoxToPlay, we recommend it for servers seeking safer, more immersive death mechanics.
