ViaFabric for Cross Version Server Access

ViaFabric is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java Edition that implements ViaVersion on the client and server. It translates network protocols so a Minecraft server running an older release can be reached from a client using a different, usually newer, version, without changing the server’s gameplay software.

Designed for multiplayer and LAN compatibility, it supports a broad range of releases, including 1.8.9, 1.12.2, 1.14.4 through 1.21.11, and 26.x branches, depending on the mod build. ViaBackwards and ViaRewind can extend compatibility in the opposite direction. At BoxToPlay, we recommend ViaFabric when version flexibility is the priority.
