The Hordes, Monster Invasions and Infection

The Hordes is a Java Edition mod that turns ordinary survival into a configurable siege experience. On selected nights, hostile mobs attack your base in waves from midnight until morning, with creatures, schedules, spawn amounts, sounds, and conditions adjustable for each Minecraft server.

Its infection system makes zombie encounters far more dangerous. Players, horses, villagers, and compatible modded creatures can become infected, progress through stages, and transform if untreated. A cure, usually a golden apple, can be configured, while infected players may return as zombie versions carrying their items.
