Smaller Nether Portals is a lightweight Minecraft mod for Java Edition that changes how Nether portals are built. It enables compact 1x2, 1x3, and 2x2 portal openings, making Nether access easier to fit inside starter bases, hidden passages, compact farms, or detailed interiors. The mod supports Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt, and works on multiplayer servers as well as in singleplayer.
Because Minecraft can sometimes place players below a small portal after teleportation, the mod detects this situation and moves them safely in front of the destination portal. It can also add obsidian protection and an air gap when needed. With automatic one click setup on BoxToPlay, it is a practical choice for space saving Minecraft server designs.
