Scholar, a better book experience

Scholar is a Minecraft Java Edition mod that transforms books into practical tools for writing, reading, and roleplay. Its redesigned interface displays and edits two pages at once, while a formatting toolbar makes bold, italic, underlined, and colored text much easier to apply. Books can also be edited on a lectern, signed with a customizable author, and imported or exported as readable text files.

Books may be dyed in any color, with matching visuals in inventories, interfaces, lecterns, and chiseled bookshelves. Tooltips improve organization, reading animations add atmosphere, and literate zombies, husks, and skeletons occasionally appear with books. Supporting Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt on both client and server, Scholar enriches any Minecraft server, while BoxToPlay offers a streamlined experience.
