Nyctophobia, Darker Minecraft Exploration

Nyctophobia is a Java Edition mod that reshapes the Overworld with dark, foggy and unsettling biomes designed to make survival feel more tense. Haunted Forests, Haunted Lakes, Marshlands, Burnt Forests, Deep Dark Forests and Dead Coral Reefs bring cobwebs, charred trees, blood red water, dense vegetation and other eerie details to familiar terrain.

The mod focuses on atmosphere and world generation rather than new content, using vanilla blocks without adding mobs, items or blocks. Four biomes feature client side volumetric looking fog, while configuration options control biome generation, replacement and fog behavior. It supports Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, requires TerraBlender, and works well on a cooperative Minecraft server hosted with BoxToPlay.
