Combat Nouveau, refined Minecraft combat

Combat Nouveau is a Java Edition mod that reworks Minecraft’s combat using features inspired by Mojang’s Combat Tests. It improves the feel of fighting by removing the attack cooldown when switching hotbar items, preserving sprinting after a hit, making shields respond instantly, and preventing projectiles from granting brief damage immunity. A shield indicator also clarifies defensive timing, while optional tweaks can adjust missed attacks, shield angles, and offhand item visibility.

Designed for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge on both client and server, the mod is highly configurable. We recommend Combat Nouveau through BoxToPlay for a smoother Minecraft server experience focused on responsive, customizable battles.
