Backported Wolves, More Wolf Variety for Older Minecraft Versions

Backported Wolves brings the wolf variants introduced in newer Minecraft releases to Java Edition versions from 1.18 through 1.20.4. It adds eight distinct variants alongside the classic pale wolf, with appearances and natural spawning tied to biomes such as taigas, forests, jungles, savannas, and wooded badlands.

Every variant can be tamed, and breeding preserves a parent’s appearance for more personalized companions. The mod also includes several wolf sound variants and configurable biome spawning through datapacks. Designed for client and server use, it fits naturally into a modded Minecraft server, and our BoxToPlay experience makes adding it straightforward.
