Axes Are Weapons is a Minecraft Java mod that improves axe combat without changing their familiar role as woodcutting tools. On a Minecraft server, axes lose one durability point per hit instead of two, matching swords, while Looting becomes available on axes. By default, Sharpness, Smite, and Bane of the Arthropods can also appear at the enchanting table, with optional support for Knockback, Fire Aspect, and modded sword enchantments.

Its configuration can treat selected tools, ranged weapons, or other items as weapons, and enable faster cobweb breaking. Working mainly server side across Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, it is a practical gameplay tweak for BoxToPlay communities seeking more flexible combat.
