Librarian’s Balance, a smarter enchantment progression

Librarian’s Balance is a Minecraft datapack that reshapes villager trading to make enchanted books feel earned rather than instantly available. Place an enchanted book on a librarian’s lectern to create a custom trade, with an emerald cost based on the book’s enchantments and levels. This gives collected books a practical purpose and makes librarians more flexible.

By default, random librarian trades only reach level three, so stronger enchantments require combining books with an anvil. Mending becomes a rare discovery found through exploration, while special treasure enchantments can produce sealed copies. Our BoxToPlay Minecraft server experience benefits from a more meaningful economy, exploration, and progression.
