Regionerator is a Bukkit plugin that gradually removes unused terrain from configured worlds on a Minecraft server. It works in the background, marking chunks around active players as visited, then targeting areas that have remained unused for a configurable period. This helps reduce world folder size and refresh distant exploration zones without requiring a complete world reset.
The plugin offers commands for checking chunk status and protecting important areas, with hooks for protection systems such as WorldGuard, GriefPrevention, Towny, and PlotSquared. Deleted chunks can be generated again by the world generator, but the process is irreversible, so BoxToPlay recommends maintaining regular backups.
