BackupOnEvent is a Bukkit plugin that protects a Minecraft server by creating compressed backups when players join or leave. It can also save the server when the last player disconnects, run backups at configured intervals, or create one immediately with the /backup command.

Its settings control which worlds are included, announcements, minimum time between backups, and storage limits. When the limit is exceeded, older archives are removed automatically.
