Instead of spawning in the Overworld, you begin trapped in a hostile abyss filled with stalking creatures, oppressive ambience, and scarce resources, and your single objective is to escape this nightmare realm. Progression is tightly linked to the Void Pendant, reworked so you must defeat powerful bosses and obtain rare materials before leaving.
