Developer’s note: This small-scale datapack adds hordes that can only spawn at night. When killing over 20 zombies, a horde will spawn and ALWAYS know where you are. They are also much faster, so beware.

Zombie Night Hordes, relentless undead after dark

Zombie Night Hordes is a lightweight Minecraft datapack for Java Edition servers running versions 1.20 to 1.20.1. It transforms nighttime survival by making zombies faster and introducing dangerous hordes that can only appear after sunset.

Kill more than 20 zombies during the night and a horde will emerge, tracking your position relentlessly instead of wandering aimlessly. Only one horde appears each night, giving every evening a tense objective and a chance to recover afterward. We recommend this compact challenge for players who want a harsher Minecraft server experience, especially alongside zombie apocalypse content on BoxToPlay.
