The Ancient Towns is a Minecraft datapack for Java Edition that expands cave exploration with enormous abandoned settlements hidden deep underground. Rather than adding another small dungeon, it creates sprawling ruins with crumbling corridors, plazas, and concealed chambers that feel like a natural extension of vanilla Minecraft.

Procedural generation combines more than 180 handcrafted architectural pieces, producing varied layouts across two town styles, including deepslate and dripstone settlements. Rare generation keeps discoveries special, while carefully balanced chest loot rewards thorough exploration without disrupting survival progression.
