Origins: Troglodyte is a Minecraft datapack for Java Edition that adds a brutal, subterranean Origin to the Origins mod. Built around a primitive reptilian humanoid, it reshapes survival with powerful strengths and harsh weaknesses, making darkness, caves, and close combat central to the experience. It supports Minecraft 1.20.x and requires Origins plus Apugli, while Pehkui is optional.

Troglodytes can wield savage strength, sleep without a bed, use claws as tools, resist poison and hunger, and see in darkness. Their scales provide armor, but swimming is impossible, sunlight weakens them, villagers react badly, and hunger rises quickly. On a Minecraft server, our BoxToPlay setup makes this distinctive Origin a compelling choice for challenging multiplayer survival.
