Drought is a Minecraft Java Edition datapack that radically changes Overworld generation by removing naturally generated water. Oceans, rivers, lakes, aquifers, cave springs, and other underground water sources disappear, creating a dry landscape where exploration and resource management feel very different.

Water becomes a valuable survival resource rather than a routine discovery. Rain filled cauldrons, selected villages, structures, and player placed water can support farming and progression, while existing chunks keep their original water. Ideal for a harsh challenge on a Minecraft server, this datapack helps our BoxToPlay team offer a distinctive, strategy focused survival experience.
