AFK Announcer is a lightweight Java Edition datapack for a Minecraft server that identifies players who remain inactive and clearly marks their status. After a configurable period without movement, an AFK label can appear beside the player’s name, while announcements inform the community when someone steps away or returns.
Players can also activate the status manually with /trigger afk. Server owners may adjust notifications, colors, invulnerability, and optional automatic kicking, making the system useful for survival, SMP, and community servers. At BoxToPlay, we present it as a simple vanilla friendly tool that improves awareness without requiring a plugin or client mod.
