Torches and more than 90 light sources illuminate the area while held, with brightness matching their vanilla behavior and smooth transitions when you change items.

Keep your pickaxe, weapon, or tool in the main hand while placing torches directly from the offhand on walls or the ground, just like vanilla. Dropped lights, glowing mobs, projectiles, and mounted lanterns can also brighten nearby areas.
