No Shield Delay is a Java plugin for Bukkit, Paper, Purpur, and Spigot servers that removes Minecraft’s built in shield warm up delay. Vanilla shields normally take five ticks, about 0.25 seconds, before they can block damage, which can make combat feel sluggish or cause attacks to pass through after the animation begins.
By making blocking effective immediately when a player raises a shield, the plugin improves reaction based PvP, survival encounters, and protection against arrows or melee hits. It is lightweight, focused on one gameplay adjustment, and helps our BoxToPlay Minecraft server experience feel more precise and responsive.
