SmoothRides

SmoothRides is a classic Bukkit plugin designed to make boats and minecarts more reliable on a Minecraft server. It addresses common transport frustrations, including runaway vehicles, erratic boat behavior, and water routes blocked by lily pads.

Depending on the configuration, boats and minecarts can be returned to a player’s inventory when they exit, while boats may also destroy lily pads on collision. An experimental feature was intended to place players into newly created vehicles automatically, although the original project noted API limitations. Created for early Bukkit releases, SmoothRides is best viewed as a lightweight historical transport fix. At BoxToPlay, we present it for servers seeking simple vehicle improvements.
