Dynamic Lights is a Java plugin for a Minecraft server running Paper 1.21 or later. It makes configured light emitting items, such as torches, lanterns, glowstone, and jack o’lanterns, illuminate the area while held, worn, or dropped. The light follows players and supported mobs in real time, so a zombie carrying a torch can brighten a cave as it moves. No client mod, ProtocolLib, or world modification is required.
Using packet based phantom light blocks, the plugin preserves your world while creating a smoother, more immersive exploration experience. Brightness, mob types, equipment slots, worlds, and player visibility can be configured, with optional toggles and reload support. At BoxToPlay, we see it as a simple way to add portable lighting to survival and adventure gameplay.
