Chester, a conversational Bukkit plugin

Chester is a playful Minecraft server chat bot for Bukkit based servers. It records player messages in a database, then uses its growing collection of phrases to create a response whenever someone mentions Chester in chat. The result is an unusual server companion that gradually becomes more coherent and entertaining as players talk.

Designed around the JMegaHal artificial intelligence bot, Chester works with any language after learning enough examples, although it begins with three English sentences. Permissions can exclude selected players from logging or triggering responses. At BoxToPlay, we present it as a lighthearted way to add personality to community conversations.
