Configured Defaults is a Java Edition utility mod designed for modpacks. It copies files and folders from a configured defaults directory into the game or server directory when those items are missing. This lets creators distribute intended configuration files for mods, resource packs, scripts, or other supported content without replacing a player’s existing files.
Its special handling for options.txt can merge missing entries while preserving personal settings, making updates smoother and reducing setup problems. For our BoxToPlay experience, it helps a Minecraft server deliver consistent modpack behavior from the first launch across Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge environments.
