It supports common formats such as PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, and WEBP.

The plugin matches image colors to the vanilla map palette and can create larger artwork across multiple maps. Image references and map IDs are stored in a compact YAML configuration, allowing displays to persist through restarts without keeping large image files.
