Blood Moon adds occasional Blood Moon events to Minecraft Java Edition servers, turning selected full moon nights into more dangerous encounters. Events can occur randomly according to a configurable chance, or be started manually by authorised staff, giving communities control over when the challenge begins.

During the event, newly spawned zombies receive configurable equipment, from stronger armour to weapons, making familiar areas far less secure. Server owners can adjust the loadout, use random equipment pools, disable the event in specific worlds, and decide whether players may sleep.
