Developer’s note: Each player can toggle if they want to keep their inventory and experience after death.

PlayerKeepInventory, personal death protection

PlayerKeepInventory is a Minecraft server plugin for Java Edition that gives every player individual control over the keep inventory rule. Instead of applying one setting to everyone, it lets each player decide whether their items and experience should return after death. This creates a flexible survival experience where some players can keep their progress while others retain the usual risk of losing their gear.

The plugin works with Paper and Spigot and uses the /keepinventory command to toggle or set the option, check a player’s status, manage the default choice, and reload its configuration. BoxToPlay makes this practical for communities with different playstyles.
