Vanilla Fireflies is a Java Edition datapack that fills nighttime landscapes with gentle, glowing fireflies. They appear in swamp and mangrove swamp biomes after dark, while also drifting beyond bushes for a more natural and immersive atmosphere. The effect adds visual life without changing survival progression or introducing new gameplay systems.
Designed for singleplayer and server side use, the pack supports several custom biome projects, including Terralith, Biomes O’ Plenty, Regions Unexplored, Terrestria, William Wythers’ Expanded Ecosphere, and Nature’s Spirit. Its configurable firefly amount, movement speed, and spread let our BoxToPlay team help you shape the mood of your Minecraft server.
