RankBot, automatic rank promotions

RankBot is an old Bukkit plugin for a Minecraft server that automates player rank changes through two complementary methods. Administrators can define secret phrases that promote players from one permission group to another, or create thresholds based on accumulated playtime. The plugin supports up to 30 phrase rules and 30 timed rank rules, with Vault and a compatible permissions system handling group changes.

Rank checks occur when a player logs in after reaching a configured time requirement, rather than continuously. Players can view their recorded time with the appropriate permission, while administrators can inspect individual or overall totals. At BoxToPlay, we present it as a lightweight progression tool for legacy Bukkit servers, notably around CraftBukkit 1.7.9.
