Basic Trails is a lightweight Bukkit plugin for Java Edition servers that adds decorative particle trails to moving players. Designed for communities seeking simple cosmetic effects, it gives a Minecraft server more personality without a large performance footprint. The project’s published files target Minecraft 1.8 and 1.8.1.

Players can select effects through the trails interface, toggle them with commands, or clear an active trail when desired. Administrators can use global or individual trail permissions, including access to apply effects to other players. A special crack trail reproduces block breaking animations by block ID. At BoxToPlay, it’s a practical cosmetic addition for classic servers.
